Distributor question 140-160

Joel, I don't think it's a good idea to do without at least the aluminum distributor mount . I don't know offhand which way the cam gear would tend to push the intermediate shaft (with the drive to the oil pump)--probably down towards the pump-----but----the aluminum mount keeps it from going anywhere. If you are concerned about appearance and want to have as clean a look as possible I'll send you an old distributor and mount you can hack apart to your hearts delight. Or just cap off the mount. -- Dave
