Mystery hose???

Thanks MacDuff,

I'll check the the fuel vapor recovery canister. Is your thinking that the copper bit on the end is a splice to longer piece of hose? I am wondering if it might also just be a water drain hose from the cargo area. I know I was a little unclear in my original message but I do not actually see where the hose plugs into the tank. The little rubber grommet plugged into a piece of housing that sits just in front of the tank.

Thank you for the cautionary advise but the car is not quite on the road yet so I won't be exploding anytime soon. I am having some vapor lock like symptoms. The car has trouble starting when it is hot or humid outside. This has me concerned about all such hoses. I have a fuel pump relay on the way which I hope solves the problem but I was wondering it could be something else.

I'll try to post a picture but it didn't seem to have shown up the last time I tried. I think if you check the gallery for technical pictures in the 200 category posted on June 3, 2012 you will see the piece of hose.

Thanks again,

Jason
