Continuing valve noise(?) saga 700 1988

Ok, enough! The rope trick is not stupid. The foolish part is leaving in the rope!

I get you do not agree with it and that is fine. You are free to express that opinion. Calling it stupid just makes you look...you get the idea.

A large majority of us, the hot rodding community for the 60's-80's, rebuilders of of post-unit motorcycle engines, etc. have used it for almost as long as there have been internal combustion engines. I know of no know engine damage from it when used even remotely the way it was intended. Give me a confirmed failure analysis or book of knowledge on failures caused by this practice and then you can call it stupid.
