Reverse light switch 200

In your diagram it looks like No. 60 is the switch and if you examine it in minute detail it appears (follow the dotted line) that it is meant to be installed without washer No. 56.

Since the switch functioned OK without a copper washer you could reassemble it that way, and test with a multimeter to see if it works. If you experienced a fluid leak there, you can seal it with a bit of gasket maker as machine man suggests. I use Permatex Moto-Seal, which has worked very well and is a non-hardening gasket maker for motorcycle parts that may need to be disassembled again. It looks, acts, and even smells like an imitation of the old 3M product "3-Bond". I found it at a NAPA store.
