Hi,
driving
This is my first post. There is soon to be a second brick in the family. My recently graduated from college is driving an 83GL we bought from the original owner. It now has 167K. We paid $950 with no rust, or the usual scrapes and minor dings of a 30 year old car.
I just bought a 1975 rust free 245 that was found in the high desert of Montana. It has a good interior and a B20 that is just finishing up being professionally rebuilt. We are also upgrading the M40 to an M41. I have 2 questions and I would genuinely appreciate your collective advice, suggestion, etc,:
1. I can obtain 2 side draft webers, intake, linkage, etc., but have been told I am better off with the mechanical fuel injection. I had a couple of bricks with this B20 K-Jetronic (I think that is what came with it) and was always having some sensor, relay or other such part replaced. Your suggestion and experiences would be helpful. I want to put the Webers on because I would probably just start the csr up sometimes just to listen to the air and fuel intake.
2. What year Volvo alloys fit on a 75 245 and does anyone know where aftermarket alloys can be found? I am putting an IPD lowering kit, good shocks and sway bars and I want more aggressive rubber.
Thank You Folks - thanks for having me join the conversation about how we keep these amazing cars on the road. I read in Top Gear that these will be the cars the cockroaches will be driving after "civilization" destroys itself.
