Frost plug installation 120-130 1963

As you say, that plug is hard to get at with the engine in the car. The plug needs a pretty big hit at right angles to the block, maybe two or three to make it really secure. If its been leaking a while, the seat are may have rusted a bit and this compromises the seal. I've read that after a good clean up a small beat of marine grade JB weld makes for a good solid seal.
