Rear Suspension Noise 200 1984

Installed new Bilstein touring class struts in the front and shocks in the rear.

There is marked difference between how the front and the rear ride now. The front is smooth but still gives good road feel. Sitting in the rear is like riding in the bed of a truck - and the suspension is noisy. Hard to describe the noise but I can "hear" every bump and imperfection in the road as the wheels travel over them.

Wondering if I did something wrong with the installation. Or if the shocks are defective. Or if maybe the new shocks are revealing the fact that the rear bushings are shot.
