Dwell angle and clutch question 444-544 1960

Hi and thanks. I also use a digital meter. connected correctly. I tried the meter on another vehicle, my wives Renault 4l 12 volt and the meter worked fine using same connectivity. The PV coil only has the neg' post available so couldn't be wrong connection. Also tried it with lead connected to breaker. Same problem. I am in touch with the manufactures to see if they can shed any light on this.
