123 Distributor install help - B20F

The rotor on the new dist. does point to #1 (approx.) when installed. It's a model made specifically for B18 and B20's so I assumed it would be set up properly for the motor. I believe the drive can be removed and adjusted more slightly that 180 degrees on this unit so maybe that's where the problem lies.
I will put the old unit back in to verify and then make sure the new unit points to EXACTLY the same position. I was second guessing myself about being at the top of the compression stroke... When the rotor on the new dist is pointing towards #1 wire and the engine is at tdc I can slightly wiggle both rockers on #1 through the valve cover cap hole (as suggested by Planetman).
