tail gate hinge 200

The black ground wires end at ring terminals that are crimped or pressed onto a post under side each hinge plate of the hinge assembly.

The heavy black wires inside both hinges merely provide better ground ground electrical connection between the body and tail gate / rear hatch.

Our Uncle Art B. shows us in images. He also replaces the ground wire in a recent post on the current month message index.

I'll guess Art used a durable solder to secure new wire to the shank (or barrel) factory pressed-in ring terms on the hing plates. It looks like he opened up the crimp to secure the wire into the ring term.

Hope that helps.

Duffed.
