Cranks - No Start 700

Are you saying that you had the wires connected incorrectly? Even if you didn't follow the correct firing order that might not stop it from starting. In the past, I've incorrectly connected wires and the car would still start. Although it didn't run very well...:)

Did you test the power stage in addition to the coil? A bad power stage would also cause a weak output at the coil. In my experience, coils normally last almost forever in Volvos. It is more likely to be a problem with the power stage or its connections. Definitely check the connections and clean them!
