M41 Overdrive Ball Bearing in Oil Strainer Housing 1800 1965

Hello all,

I have a D type OD that I am putting back together.

When I pulled out the oil strainer there was a ball bearing stuck to all the gunk on the bottom. As there is a little hole there, I did not think much of it. But now that I am putting it all back together, it seems that there is nothing that holds the ball in place, as the metal ring and spacers for the strainer do not seem to cover up the hole.

Any ideas? Am I missing a washer to hold it in place?

Please see attached image.

Thanks,
Devin
