How many heater hoses required? 444-544

I'm removing all the heat system out of my 57 pv444,hopefully tomorrow.A hot rod builder friend is going to install a aftermarket heat/ac unit under the dash.There is a fitting for a heater hose on the back of the cylinder head,1 on passenger side of the block,then the thin metal tube that goes from water to rear of engine.

I only need one hose to flow water to the heater core and one hose to return water back to block.Thanks for any and all help.
