power steering pump 200 1991

bought a 91 245 .guy said his AC compressor failed so he took out the AC and the PS pump since it was on top.I bought the IPD AC delete bracket kit so I can put PS pump back in.Any way to test if pump is good non leaking before install? Unfortunately the the IPD kit is on backorder so I have to wait.I may buy all new hoses to put on pump.Also has anyone one done the IPD kit install?
