windshield, black gunk, mastic maybe, what brand? 200

Hi mkoch,

If you can live without the chrome trim, I hope you realize that at this point you have the option of converting your 89 to the quieter and cleaner 91-93 style trim.

It's about the same time and money and maybe less aggravation in dealing with the shrunken beauty ring. Rather than the butyl and the snap kit, you'll need a length of generic 25 or 31mm rubber trim and a tube of urethane windshield adhesive.

I recently converted my 90 wagon and like it a lot.

regards, Peter
