Dellow bellhousing kit works in 544? 444-544 1965

Considering cost alone, to give my (in process) 544 a 5-speed, and possibly avoid cutting what looks to be pretty structural stuff in the tunnel, does anyone know if the celica/supra tranny would fit? I suppose I can look up dimensions and ratios and such.

Actually I think my preferred thing would be to use the rock solid 4 speed and convert the rear end to a low ratio (this is a strong built engine, I think). Even though there are a lot of off-road Jeep types around, talking about an old Spicer 27 or whatever it is draws a lot of blank stares. I'm almost tempted to build one myself, but that special "stretching" tool for the rear housing is a strange animal. I're be relying on luck mostly.
