Seatbelt latch broke? 700 1990

1990 740 GL Regina (almost daily driver!) 224,000 miles

Howdy folks. I've had no issues before with seatbelts before, but this car has been full of surprises. I've seen these broken on 240s but not 740s.

I'm happy to say I've been able to drive this back and forth to work, which feels great. The seat is so much better than the Honda civic I've been driving that I can't put it into words.

Anyway, I got in my car the other day and the seatbelt sort of bounced out of the latch. I thought it was going in at a funky angle, and the 3rd try worked. The next day it happened a little more. When I went to leave my house after lunch, the latch seems to have just completely let go. It won't hold the belt at all now.

I have 2 replacement red covers for the latch and 2 springs, so I pulled on the part of the latch that the replacement would lift up... no help.

Are these repairable or do I just need to find another one?

Happy bricking!
