Trans grinding 200 84

Hello all,

First off is that the knob has come

loose of the shift. What is the best way

to re-attach it to the shaft? Epoxy, JBweld?

My standard trans M-46 is problematic.

I am unable to shift into first unless

the car is at a dead stop, it'll grind.

I shift into second and then first to avoid

this, it seems to work but I still can't downshift

to first when I need to. When I'm in second and give

the gas a good stab and let off the gear-shift will pop

out of second by itself, I suspect the car spent alot of

time in traffic. Are there any external adjustments?

Would I be better off replacing it rather than

having it rebuilt? I have access to another turbo

in a junkyard but it has an automatic, is it

problematic to put in an auto after a manual?
