Oil everywhere 200 1989

Hello All,

my 1989 240 sedan just started blowing oil out the right (passenger)rear side of the engine. It is not the oil filter, since that is clean but just before the firewall and in front of the bell housing. The oil is flowing out!! before I start pulling parts off or taking it to a garage where I will probably have to mortage my kid to pay for it, I was wondering if there are any ideas on what you folks think it could be. My parts store guy said it could be the oil sending unit but I can't find any place in my reference book where it even shows one.....the engine runs great, but it just blows oil. I am hoping it is not a head gasket, but if it is, how hard are they to replace?....any and all comments are most welcome....Mike
