Montreal is a lot colder than Guelph!

I too an considering a TDI, as a second car to the 945. I have been asking around, and so far have not heard of any cold-weather starting troubles. People do use block and/or fuel line heaters here in Ottawa.

I'd would much rather be in a Volvo on a highway trip from Montreal to Toronto. Coming from a person who 15 years ago to did Montreal to Waterloo on a motorbike regularly, that might just be my age showing.

Look into insurance costs - you might get a surprise there!
