no start-weak/no spark 700 1985

Still trouble shooting my '85 740GLE. I thought I was getting spark, but I did wire a spare spark plug to ground and put a plug wire to it, then opened the gap to about 1/8". While turning over the engine, I did see weak spark at first, then no spark at all. checked coil by connecting test light to each small terminal and ground, they did light up. While cranking they did pulse. Pulled connector from Hall sensor, correct voltage at each wire in connector, per a post I saw in Brickboard (5v, 11v, etc.)

Could this be Hall Sensor intermittent problem?

Other checks to make sure?

Thanks in advance guys.

JC
