Re: Auto Tranny Cooler: What Do You Think?? 200 1989

Hi all:

I'm a new Volvo 240 GL owner. I finally got everything to work again, especially the a/c. Appeared it only needed a recharge after 12 years. Lucky me for now.

I wanted your opinions if adding a $30 - $60 automatic transmission cooler is worth the money. Does it really make a difference? I went to my local auto parts store and looked at the dinky thing, would I be wasting my money? Just wanted to know if you think it'll prolong my transmission. I plan to change my tranny oil every 10,000 miles.

Also, while I'm at it, anybody ever drill a hole in the tranny pan to add a removable bolt for quick tranny oil changes? Is it as easy as I think it's going to be? Thanks in advance.

-Darrell
