142E good stuff 140-160 1971

Well, I found a 142E in a yard today.

I wiped the gunk off of the brass plate on the tranny

and saw that it was M400 but it had an overdrive, so I

figured that it was an M410. I eventually pulled it off

and when I was about to buy it I saw that it said (after

cleaning it a bit) that it was an M40G. *G*. Damnit!

SO, this thing is useless to me (if I wanted a core for

a rebuilt M410, that is, and for my 164).

I'm going to be rebuilding myself a B20 for my 144,

should I grab the head off of this car? Any other good

stuff on this beasty that I should grab?

Another question -- will a front seat from a 1974 144

fit onto an early 164? The 164 seats have the front

angle adjuster thingy on them that the 144 seats don't

have, so I wonder if I can still swap between them?

(I found a 1974 144 with a perfect interrior that I want

to put on my 1970 164)

chris
