Well, Ole Blue is now as quiet as can be.
The new fan motor is wonderful.

I tried your method of drilliing the holes and oiling. The shaft on the left side had worn the bushing about .065" (about 1/26" slop).
No amouhnt of oil would fix this one (unless it was 15 gallons of diesel oil and a match!!

I tried your Dremel... method.
Was going real good until I got to the guts of the fan venturie.
The original fan motor had a tin flange instead of 3 legs for mounting.
So we ripped the left housing off as per factory - and did the oe dremel - duct tape to the right side.
Started on this puppy at 11:30 pm last night - was at it till about 4:30 am - (what can I say - I was committed)-
Took another 3 hours today to get it all back together - what a dream!!!
My sweetie was suspicious that I was out all night fooling around. When I asked her what gave her that idea she said "you seem interested in new positions and you look like you've been &(*%^$#'ed over real good.
I explained that I had spent the night R & R'ing the heater fan motor in Ole Blue. She said that that took care of both observations.
(Actually the above two paragraphs are fictional, but it could be true!
