Fluctuating idle 700 1990

Let me start by saying how much time and $$ you (all) have saved me in the past.

Here is the issue. I have a fluctuating idle that seems to be affected by stomping on the brakes. In the intervening period of NOT solving this, I had an ECU go bad. While I was at it, I replaced the RMP sensor and FI relay just for drill as they say. Also, cleaned the TB. *The airfilter is in good shape and can not find any obvious vaccum leaks.

In the FAQ, it mentions a check valve between the manifold and the brake booster...found that and it seems OK. Driveability is excellent otherwise.

Not wanting to just throw parts into it. Hep!

PS - after owning Volvo's for 28 yrs. when the ECU died was the FIRST and only time a Volvo has stranded me. And even than, it was in a nice safe parking lot. Those Swedish are so proper.
