USE the IDU to check for sensor function! 700 1990

Look it up in the Chiltons. I think it's function 4 or something...you'll get a code during starting (I think you'll have to check fast because apparently you have a slow start rather than a no-start) indicating the lack or presence of a CPS signal.

Otherwise, just replace the thing.

On my 90, the shop replaced the FI and RF (B230FT) relays on GP...a year later the car was towed out of a highrise basement (work, #$%$#%) and the dealer replaced the CPS.

MUCH cheaper to replace these three items at around 100K and avoid the tow.
