Re: Bellhousing plate function? 120-130 1965

It'll be fime. There were two versions. The early one, for which you have the bell housing used two 1/4" bolts to hold a pressed metal plate to the bell housing.

The later version used the alloy casting bolted to the block and had larger bolt holes in the bell housing.

f you want to fit the thing properly you need the appropriate bell housing but there are any number of cars running about assembled as you describe.
