82 240 Fuel Pump Noise 200 1982

Hello,

82 240 that is making a groaning noise at the fuel pump.The fuel pump is only 2 weeks old and made the same noise with the old one. It does not make the noise all the time. I was thinking maybe the intank pump is bad and it only tends to do it when the tank is half full. The outside temp has been in the 30-60's that is why I dont see it being vapor lock
