Re: Rough idle and acceleration from engine 700 1987

According to your description removing any wire except number one makes no change in the running. Do you really mean what you say. That would mean 2, 3, and 4 are not firing?????? If wires are in bad shape you should replace them all, along with plugs, dist cap, rotor. Check for sticking valve by running a compression check. Have you considered an injector not working? While trying to isolate a problem to a particular cylinder it is helpfull to disable the idle air control system which otherwise will try to keep idle the same and make it more difficult to observe changes.
