Problems with M-40

If it pops out regularly on deceleration you have excessive wear inside and need a rebuild. It's generally not economical to accept a quick cure. If you expect to continue driving the car, have a full rebuild done. Avoid shade tree mechanics on this. Let the dealer do it if you can justify the cost. Mostly folks go to a mid level service facitily, which are out there if you search. Be sure to find out how many M-40's they've rebuilt in the last couple of years. If you get an evasive answere, go elsewhere. Get a guarantee on the work. floribunda NJ
