Towing 200 1986

Hi Guys,

A slightly early question but I won't be around when I start doing this.

I need to start towing my racer myself later this year. The car is a Vauxhall and I believe the Pontaic Le Man is basically the same car, so you have an idea of the size and weight involved. My B230A (carb) 245 is already equipped with a towing hitch and electrics, so no problems there.

Any of you guys and gals have experience of this sort of thing? Anything special or desireable to look out for when buying a trailer? Any special tips for driving whilst towing or mods that help the 245 whilst towing?

The raceway is only about 10 miles from my house but this is across narrow and twisty country roads.

Any advice, tips, or humerous towing anecdotes greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Big Rich.

PS. I was tempted to use my spares car ('84 245 B21) for 'banger' racing but it is, unfortunately, too valuable to me in helping keep Bjorn on the road!

'86 245, B230A. 161k. Old 200s never die, they just live on in other cars.
