Bad Driveshaft support bearing? 700 1992

I have complained of vibration on the highway at speeds around and above 70 mph. I just got under my car and tried to move the driveshaft and the center suppport bearing had at least an inch of play. I assume that this is not normal. Someone please confirm this. It seems like this would be a pretty easy thing to repair, except for the fact that I will have to take the driveshaft apart. If anyone has done this, please offer any helpful hints and/or procedural notes.

It seems very logical that this would solve my problem of vibration at speed and I am excited.

Thanks for any replies
