A few months ago my wife and I got a "great" deal on a '93 940 Turbo with 133k. It had some stuff wrong with it, but I figured I could handle it or save up and have it done. Well, I put it off too long, and a couple of weeks ago I HAD to do some work and with a baby due in 5 weeks, I needed to save the money and do it myself.
This post is to thank everyone on this forum for helping me (and more in the future I'm sure). I fix PC's and Laser printers for a living - but the most I've repaired on a car is a water pump on a Honda Accord. I thought I'd gotten in over my head when I got to working on this Volvo, but thanks to a pretty okay manual (Haynes - had to buy it from the UK) and everyone's tips and advice, I finished it TONIGHT with the exception of a couple noises (see previous post). It took 2 weeks of evenings, but the thing runs WAAAAY better than it has since we bought it!! - and it feels really good to have done it myself.
Here's what I did - I know it looks like a lot, and some of it maybe unneccessary, but whatever IDIOT had this before me must have been trying to ruin it (no wonder we got such a "good" deal :^)
