Timing alignment on B230F 200 1985

When I pulled the head on my engine, I just loosened the tensioner and left the timing belt hanging there. When I reinstall the head, can I just put the crank on the 0 mark on the timing belt cover, line up the rotor with the TDC mark I made, and line up the camshaft marks and assume I'm timed correctly? I really want to avoid removing the lower cover (i.e., removing the crankshaft pulley) to check the marks there, but I'd like even less to have to pull this thing apart again. Any help would be great. Thanks.
