Relay problem, probably 200 1987

I had this problem in my 745T. In the relay bay, there's a reed-switch relay that comes on when electrical current is out-of-balance. Mine was shorted out. In my car, it was a single, large relay...a red cylinder. A new one wasn't cheap, so I got one at a pick and pull yard and lasted for 150K miles (at which point I sold the car).
