240 odometer not working 200

I have an 86 240dl w/electronic speedometer. The odometer stopped working on the car. I have changed out the gears (small plastic gears inside assemble), as the small gear had a chipped tooth. Huge thanks to Dave S. for all of his help on this.

Unfortunately, the repair did not work. It is still not working. Speedometer works. I have also turned the gears inside odometer to verify that they are not froze up. Appears they are ok. Other than sending to a speedometer shop, is there any other common things I should check for? After taking it for a spin, I have taken the odometer apart again, and the gears are still in tact. so it is not like they continue to get chewed up).

Ready to punt at this point. Fortunately, the newly installed tach, small clock and voltmeter all are working in fine order :).

Any ideas?
