ez bypass for tailgate wiring sought 200 1983

Morning,

This tailgating thing is really getting out of hand...kind of like watergate for the new millenium?

Humor is weak, too early.

Wiper/sprayer out on rear of 245, can live with that. Don't need clear view of nimrod on my tail.

Lock tied into central locking dysfunctional, can live with that, thing still locks manually.

Unfortunately license plate lights are out now as well, that could cause a problem w/ constable.

Looking at hinges from exterior w/door closed, all wires in both hinges are broken 100% through.

Do I really need to replace both harnesses through both hinges to get the lights to work back there?

How are they wired, one light from left, other from right (harness)?

How bout the ground--I understand the struts that hold up the door have s.thing to do w/ proper ground for everything back there.

Is my first (Volvo) wagon, thanks for any advice, this could get weird.

Frank in oHIo
