240 radio compatability???

The radio will physically fit, however the 92-vintage radios in cars which have 4 factory speakers have a separate 'amp' unit which mounts low behind the center console. The 2 connect with a DIN-plug cable, and the speakers connect to the amp with a rectangular connector. I believe the relatively-rare 240 radios which accompanied a 2-speaker installation were directly wired to the speakers.

The OEM Volvo radio units are really not very good. You can do a lot better on the aftermarket for not a lot of money.
