No, I did say that I had that problem too before (first paragraph). And your right about that too. But that was not what I was dealing with now.

It seems I did fix it though (fingers crossed against jinx). After 2 1/2 days of light bulb hell, I discovered by accident that the bulb (at least the right brake bulb in my 740) needed to be slightly turned counter-clockwise for the positive prong to push the bulb up and cause the ground posts to grip and not come loose. Left side does not have that problem. I'm sure the bulb holders for the bulbs are not that close on the tolerances and over time those bulb holders distort even more. Now there is one problem that no manual (not Alldata; not Haynes; not Bentley; not Mitchell; not even Volvo) addresses. All Known data sources for light bulb changing 101, say clockwise for insertion and counterclockwise to remove it.

Anyway, that's all that seemed to be needed. No BFWL; all brake lights working - so far so good.
