What Do I Do Now? ECT Sensor 200 1990

There are two engine coolant temp. sensors? Well, I replaced the one under the 3rd intake manifold. I could tell if the female end of the connector was clean or not, but obviously the new sensor was clean. I checked the 700/900 FAQ section and found nothing for this. I will check the wiring, but if it brings the CEL light on again... is it going to hurt driving it? Should I replace the sensor again?

Should I disconnect the battery and see if that permanently rests the code?

Thanks a million for the response and I hope some new information, too.
