O2 Sensor check 700 1987

My 87 740 Turbo has been running rich. This weekend I'm going to test the O2 sensor. Are there any tricks to this? I have a hydraulic jack and intend to use it to jack the car up enough to retrieve the O2 sensor and give it a test with the voltmeter. I guess I need to check for continunity? Are there any problems removing the sensor?

Chris
