grommet seal 200 1983

Hi All,

I have a leaky grommet in the ole' wagon - it's located on the passenger side, in front of the pass. door...it's dripping water down the side of the car and onto the floor. i removed my carpets/carpet pads about a month ago, so that's not an issue......

question: if i cannot find a good non-leakable replacement grommet either at the junkyard or from a parts supplier, what can I use to goo it up as a stop-gap measure? ..... since it plugs onto bare metal, i don't want to use silicone. (it's my understanding that silicone promotes corrosion - correct me if i'm wrong).

speaking of replacement grommets, does anyone know a good source for new ones? i will call the dealership but i'd rather go to a different source, if possible. i know this may be hard to answer, since it may not be clear which grommet needs replacing..... but if you know which one i mean, and have an idea, i'd love to hear it.

since i'm in portland, i'll check IPD and i've got a couple good reliable pick-n-pulls that i visit regularly. i don't really want to replace it with a used one since that may not be any better, and it's a PITA to pull out, due to the angle its at. (removal from right to left, not from front to back, so i have a tough time getting good leverage).

as always, thanks!

susan.

good news is that i am tracking down each and every h20 leak and fixing them, one at a time.
