another one bites the dust 140-160

Thanks guys, it could be cam gear as the noise is not quite like a piston. I'll find out when we pull it down. Yes George, I suspected as much with the lifters, they should be available here in OZ. Yes, I could build a very strong engine for $4k. but that supercharger sounds so good. It isn't cheap but it should have heaps of power over a broad rev range and be more street drivable than a cammed up beast with 11.00-1.00 compression and a pair of Webers. Not that I've ever done it, I'm only guessing. I can get a Toyota supercharger for $400, they are popular add-on here on the GM V6 and will run up to 7lb boost which may be enough. That may be worth looking into. Matt, I hope you will let us all know when you get that supercharger on your P1800 and tell us if it's worth the money. And yes we are running the injected cam in the current motor, it is noticably better even with the twin Strombergs. We just fitted a 2" system right through with a 'hot-dog' on the end, we had to put it there as the car is so low there is no room for a muffler underneath. It made a real difference in performance and sounded great, but our fun was short lived. The next one will be better. We'll keep you posted. My son posts occasionally as 'tom142' Bye for now. Matt (that's my name too)
