Greetings all...Thank you for posting so much detailed information about Volvos...Had to replace the intake gasket on the wifes '96 960...Check engine light and code 172 on bank one lead me there with the help from your post...some of you who have undertake this task know that the lower mounting bolt on the intake bottome is a real sumbuck to get to...I cursed out loud a bit on this one...cleaned everything up....back of intake valves were spotless(I use Amoco or Chevron premium only). Went back together easier...Fired right up....purred like a kitten....I left it running knowing the fuel was low(light was on, duh)...Stepped over to talk with neighbor a moment came back and had cut off on it's on while idling... I added enough fuel to bring the gauge up to almost 1/4 tank... and still will not crank.... please advise....Thanks..
