Back on the 122, M40 length? 120-130

Hello All,

After a bit of a break, I'm back working on the 122. First will be the M40 to M41 conversion.

I'm wanting to track down the front half of the driveshaft that will work with the OD. I found this list of tranny sizes in the archives and I was wondering if someone might have an old M40 they could get a measurement on. Figure it would be more accurate than me crawling under the car with a tape measure.

These from the front of the bellhousing where it mates to the engine to the back of the driveshaft flange...

M410 with Jtype OD: 29.25"
M41 with Dtype OD: 28.75
BW35 slushbox: 28.75

The only thing that could be funky is that this car was originally an automatic. The PO at some point welded in plate steel to make the conversion for the transmission mounts.

Thanks for any help.
