Ignition switch question??? 200 1980

Art,
I measured the ohms of the coil in the distributor where it enters the amplifier. I get the same resistance reading there, as going right on the coil.
I thought I disturbed that wire, that's why I keep going back and checking, guess I should make sure the rotor is turning, never thought of that one, maybe my timing belt slipped, although I would think the cranking wouldn't sound normal. This is one weird problem, as what I did, should not have affected the ignition system.
