15w-50 Mobil 1 700

I was at the local Wal-Mart this past weekend and they had 5qt containers of 15w-50 Mobil 1 for just $18.88, so I bought a few. Although, after reading my manual and the FAQ it seems that this may or may not be useful. The car in question is a '92 745t with 120,000 miles on the clock, just had the warped head stretched and milled and all put back together looking spiffy & new. It overheated when a collant hose burst!
Should I dumnp the dino oil the mechanic used (Castrol) and use this 15w-50?

I also replaced the 3 front oil seals. I was previously using Mobil1 10w-30 but have only owned the car for 12,000 miles - I knew the seals would leak when I switched and that they'd have to be replaced.

Won't this be a good summer oil? with temperatures in the Philly area usually peaking out at 90 - 95 degrees F

What damage could this possibly do?

Ian
