looking for conversion suggestions 700 1990

Nope, the 16 valve oil pump is not in the pan. Looking at the engine from the front, the balance shafts are at the lower left and the upper middle right. They are externally mounted. The oil pump is behind the bigger gear at the lower right and is driven by the timing belt. It is accessible by removing the gear. The pump is in the sump for the B230F and you fave to lift the engine and remove the pan to get at it. The 16 valve oil pump has a larger capacity than the 8 valve engine since extra flow is needed for the balalnce shafts, the extra cam and the hydraulic lifters.
