My Earl Scheib experience 700 1987

The cracking in the hood is called acid cracks, this is common in the metal when manufacterd and cleaned, the acid that was used after the stamping prosses takes a long time to crack out,the new paint will re-crack in a year or so when the sun heats up the paint and expands it repetedly, (most common in old fords). The only way to repair that is to sand down to bare metal and sand blast and re-dip in a newer non acustic acid. The orange peel can be wet sanded and compounded and than hi speed buffed. this is not a big job at all it will cost $200 give or take to do the whole car and 7-12 hours to finish.
