I have a 1990 740 Turbo with 192,000 miles, and mostly it drives great. However I have some erradic automatic transmission problems with overdrive. Sometimes it shifts into overdrive, and other times does not. So far, I have changed the overdrive solenoid, as well as the relay. Additionally, I frequently have problems re-starting the car - so when the car is already at operating temp and I restart, I have to hold on the gas and quickly shift to drive and slam on the gas again, so as not to stall. It has no problems when it's cold. Again, this is an erradic problem, because sometimes it starts and idles just fine. I was wondering if there is a possible connection between these two problems and would appreciate any input. Thanks.
